We had all the checklists in place, but no easy way to ensure that everything was getting done. We tried using spreadsheets and intelligent scan & upload solutions… but only through time-consuming in-person internal audits would we uncover any missing items. And sometimes it would be too late.
When I opened my first franchise location, I had no idea about the need to manage compliance for each employee as well as for the business. Many franchise requirements, such as the code of conduct, had to be refreshed every year for every employee. And then, an updated or new compliance requirement would come in! It was extremely difficult to keep track of it all. When I opened my second location, managing compliance became a bigger nightmare!
We had all the checklists in place, but no easy way to ensure that everything was getting done. We tried using spreadsheets and intelligent scan & upload solutions…but only through time-consuming physical internal audits would we uncover any missing items. And sometimes it would be too late.
Securely storing physical paperwork with appropriate access was yet another issue. The longer we waited for the solution, the higher the risk became of non-compliance. The penalty for non-compliance would have negatively impacted the business credibility, not to mention the financial impact.
This was definitely not a job for just another CRM platform, human resource (HRIS) platform or spreadsheets.
I realized we needed to have an automated solution and that’s when “Compliance-as-a-Service” was conceptualized.
For many months, I worked with a bunch of franchisees, franchisers and legal experts in the field and designed a simple, easy-to-use, lightweight, secure cloud-based tool. We worked with a superb user interface design team and smart developers to introduce “Auto Enforcement” as the key feature. We realized that it needed to be affordable for a small business owner as well as dynamic enough to “fast-track” existing employees while allowing for multi-location growth. We recursively tested the tool with owners and location managers in the field to ensure simplicity; we were met with resounding success.
And so without further ado…here’s the tool! I am sure that you will find it as useful as I do. Feel free to provide us with any feedback and feature enhancements. Remember, it is a tool designed by a franchisee for franchises and you can help make it even better.
So that’s who we are – providing Compliance as a Service!
